Where to eat 1

Before calling it a night, we dont want to leave you out there hungry, thats why some of the best off the beaten track eatery picks for Nuernberg, firstly local specialities:

Schäufeleswärtschaft- - famous for its franconian PORK SHOULDER which is a regional specialty in Midfranconia. The flesh with the long bone is stewed and fried to obtain a crisp rind. The Franconian pork shoulder served with potato dumplings and lettuce or cabbage in a dark sauce and is regarded by connoisseurs as the "i" - dot the regional cuisine. Find it HERE

In case you have a car and fancy a little tour into wild franconia, the farer you go out of the city, the less you pay and the better the food gets. So thinking about driving some 30 km is not a bad idea for a nice saturday or sunday lunch. You can go for example to Brauerei Hofmann in Hohenschwärtz where you can find excellent locally brewed beer as well as finest regional food. In genereal there are lots of breweries in the area of Gräfenberg, and if you fancy a little stroll after your greasy meal ask for the "5 Seidla Weg" -- a hiking tour that the 5 local breweries in that area together.
